The European Parliament approved the postponement of the entry into force of the EUDR Regulation for one year
On November 26, 2025, the European Parliament approved amendments to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), postponing its entry into force by one year. This was reported on the official website of the European Parliament.
According to the approved changes, companies will receive an additional year to adapt to new EU rules on preventing deforestation.
Large operators and traders will be required to comply with the requirements of the Regulation from December 30, 2026;
Micro and small enterprises - from June 30, 2027.
This postponement should ensure a smooth transition and also allow for additional measures to be implemented to strengthen the IT system used by operators and traders to submit electronic due diligence applications.
MEPs also agreed to reduce obligations for micro and small primary operators - they will now only need to submit a one-time simplified declaration.
In addition, the European Parliament has requested a review of the legislation by April 30, 2026, to assess its impact and administrative burden on business.
"The Parliament is now ready to start negotiations with the member states on the final version of the law, which must be approved by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU and published in the Official Journal of the EU by the end of 2025, so that the one-year postponement can enter into force," the message states.
At the same time, buyers of soybeans for the EU market are already demanding from producers full information on cultivation areas with the geolocation of fields and other data, which leads to some producers refusing to sell in the EU and creates additional pressure on soybean prices.
