The European Commission has raised the forecast for the EU wheat and corn harvest in 2025/26 MY

European Commission experts have increased the forecast for the EU wheat harvest in the 2025/2026 MY from 133.4 to 134.2 million tons, and corn from 56.8 to 57.6 million tons, while the forecast for barley production has been reduced from 55.9 to 55.6 million tons. The total production of all grain crops is estimated at 286.9 million tons.

Recall that in the 2024/25 MY, the European Union countries harvested 253.9 million tons of grain, including 110.9 million tons of wheat, 48.7 million tons of barley, and 59.2 million tons of corn.

The European Commission forecasts grain exports in the 2025/26 MY at 45.4 million tons (38.9 million tons in the previous season), including wheat – 31.0 (25.5) million tons, barley – 10.1 (9.3) million tons, and corn – 3.0 (3.0) million tons.

Grain imports are estimated at 26.4 (31.7) million tons, including wheat – 3.5 (8.0) million tons, barley – 1.5 (1.3) million tons, and corn – 18.0 (20.0) million tons.
