Export prices for sunflower oil fell to the lowest level in the 2021/22 season

According to Revinitv, export prices for raw Ukrainian sunflower oil fell to the lowest level in the 2021/22 season under pressure from low export demand and lower prices for vegetable oils.

In recent weeks, external demand for sunflower oil has remained very low. Importers do not want to buy expensive oil, given the decrease in the prices of offers for oil supplies in January – February by 1 100/ton to F 1305-1310/ton FOB over the past week. On the CPT basis, prices for sunflower oil decreased by 6 65/ton to 1 1285-1295/ton for delivery in December – January.

Purchase prices for sunflower seeds in Ukraine also fell to 18500-18800 UAH/ton, and the volume of offers from producers remains very low.  

During September – November of the 2021/22 season, Ukraine exported 1.35 million tons of sunflower oil, while in the same period last year, 1.59 million tons of sunflower oil were exported.

The largest buyer of Ukrainian sunflower oil remains India, although in the first three months of the 2021/22 season, it reduced oil imports from Ukraine from 466 to 413 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period of my 2020/21. China during this period also reduced imports of Ukrainian sunflower oil from 503.5 to 252.3 thousand tons. at the same time, sunflower oil exports from Ukraine to the EU for the same period increased from 320.7 to 409.7 thousand tons.
