Exports of vegetable oils from Ukraine in October increased by 63% compared to September
In October 2025, exports of vegetable oils from Ukraine increased significantly. The total volume of supplies amounted to $619.5 million, which is 65.4% more than in September, while the physical volume of exports increased by 63%. This is stated in the monthly AgroDigest of the Ministry of Economy on changes in foreign trade in agricultural products of Ukraine.
The main driver of growth was sunflower oil, whose exports increased by more than 2.2 times both in monetary terms and in physical volumes. Soybean oil also showed positive dynamics, with shipments increasing by approximately 28%.
In contrast, rapeseed oil exports declined by 14–15%, while cottonseed and mustard oils showed slight but steady growth.
Traditionally, the key buyers of Ukrainian vegetable oils remain the countries of the European Union and Asia. In October:
- almost 60% of exports went to the EU,
- 35.2% — to Asian countries.
Among European countries, the greatest demand was observed from the Netherlands, Spain and Poland.
Soybean oil was supplied mainly to Poland, but was also present in other EU markets. Sunflower oil was actively purchased by Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and India, which ensured a record share of the Asian direction in total exports.
African countries remain a secondary market - they import mainly small batches of Ukrainian products.
