Rains in Argentina improve crop conditions, but delay wheat harvesting

According to the BAGE exchange, the rains in Argentina had a favorable effect on crops, the number of which in good or excellent condition increased by 26% to 69%. But in the state of Santa Fe, the intensity of precipitation can negatively affect the process of pollination and grain formation.

During the week, another 10% of wheat crops were threshed in the country, which in general was harvested on 65% of the area compared to 78% last year. But prolonged rains can reduce the quality of grain.

Corn planting in the country is concentrated in the areas with the least amount of moisture, mainly in the province of Córdoba. In the north-central areas of Santa Fe, Entre Rios and central Buenos Aires, excess moisture persists, delaying planting. Currently, 58.6% of the planned areas are sown with corn in the country, which is 6.7% higher than last year's rate.
