659 vessels called at the ports of Odessa in the 1st quarter of 2025

During January-March 2025, 659 ship calls were made to the three ports of the Odessa region involved in the work of the "export corridor" (in January -204, in February - 213, in March - 242), - said Andriy Klymenko, head of the monitoring group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies.
The number of foreign vessels operating with the ports of Greater Odessa continues to grow, despite constant shelling from the Russian Federation.
During the specified period, the ports of Greater Odessa, as well as the energy and industrial infrastructure of the Odessa region in the area of the ports, were attacked at least 35 times by missiles and UAVs of various types, as a result of which 3 vessels were damaged, people were killed, and the port infrastructure was damaged.
"All vessels were attacked by Iskander-M ballistic missiles in the port of Odessa: on March 1 – the bulk carrier SUPER SARKAS (flagged Sierra Leone) and the container ship MSC LEVANTE F (flagged Panama), and on March 11 – the bulk carrier MJ Pinar (flagged Barbados), resulting in the death of 4 crew members," said A. Klymenko.
