The foreign trade deficit of Ukraine in January-February, 2017 decreased by 44%

trade deficit of Ukraine in January-February 2017 fell to 423,2 million $ against 756,1 million $ to the same period of the previous year, according to Gostamsluzhby Ukraine.

in Particular, in the given period exports of goods increased by 32.7% to 6,268 billion $, while imports rose 22.1% to 6,691 billion dollars.

the overlap Index of imports by exports was 0.94, whereas in January-February 2016 it was $ 0.86.

during the first two months of 2017 Ukraine conducted trade operations with partners from 198 countries of the world.

exports of goods to EU countries increased by 16.2% to 2,437 billion $ and the total volume of domestic exports has a share of 38.9%. Imports from the EU grew by 13.4% to 2.79 billion USD and amounted to 41.7% of total import volume.

Export of goods to Russia increased by 54.4 per cent to 576,6 million $, even more significantly increased the import of Russian – 78,8% to 1,016 billion dollars.

Reduction of foreign trade deficit will reduce the pressure of importers on the national currency. While the growth of exports of agricultural products in the beginning of the season 2017/18 MG will strengthen the hryvnia and lead to the fall in procurement prices for grains and oilseeds.
