COCERAL lowered the forecast of grain harvest for the EU to 293 million tons
Organization of the European grain traders COCERAL lowered for EU countries, the forecast of grain production in the current year to 293 million tons, while last year it amounted to 311 million.
- Gross harvest of wheat relative to the June forecast to decrease by 14 million tons to 134 million tons, which will be 18 million tonnes less than was collected last year.
- barley Crop will decline from expected in June to 63 million tons to 59 million tons against last year's 61 million.
- Gross harvest of corn will be not 62 million tons and 61 million tons, but will still exceed 58 million tons the previous season.
Adverse weather conditions in France, which is the largest grain producer in the EU, led to a decrease in grain yield compared to the previous year by 17 million tons to 55 million tons, including wheat – on 13 million tons to 28 million tons.
