Brazil has already harvested a third of its soybean crop

According to the AgRural agency, as of February 15, soybeans in Brazil were harvested on 32% of the area, which is 7% higher than last year's 25% for this period. Periodic rains that have been coming for several weeks are delaying the harvest, but they are contributing to the sowing of the second crop of corn, the rates of which also exceed last year's, as predicted by analysts.

Monitoring of the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange showed that in Argentina, during the period of February 8-14, the number of corn crops in good or excellent condition decreased from 31% to 27%, in satisfactory - increased from 54% to 56%, in bad and very bad - grew from 15% to 17%.

Experts note that the recent rains had a positive effect on plant development, but could not compensate for the negative effects of the previous few weeks of dry and hot weather. Despite this, the condition of corn crops is much better than last year, when on the specified date only 11% of crops were in good or excellent condition, 44% were in satisfactory condition, and 45% were in bad and very bad condition.

We will remind that in 2023/24 R, 7.2 million hectares were sown with corn in Argentina, compared to 7.1 million hectares in 2022/23 MR.

According to forecasts, dry weather without precipitation will continue in Argentina for another 5-7 days, which will continue to worsen the condition of soybean and corn crops.
