Brazil increases soybean exports, worsening export prospects for the US
Oil World experts predict that significant Brazilian soybean supply will limit U.S. soybean export sales in 2026.
Brazil's soybean carryover stocks, which will amount to 7-8 million tons at the beginning of January 2026, and increased production will allow the country to export at least 115 million tons of soybeans in 2026 (compared to 108.3 million tons in 2025, 92.4 million tons in 2024, and 92.8 million tons in 2023).
Thanks to an increase in soybean plantings by 1.7 million hectares to 50.5 million hectares, Brazil plans to harvest 178 million tons of beans in 2026.
According to experts, during September-December, soybean exports from Brazil will increase compared to the corresponding period last year from 15.4 to 21.8 million tons, in particular in December - from 2 to 3.5 million tons.
