Off the coast of Romania, the Russian Federation attacked another ship

On the morning of October 23, the vessel Khoryv was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea near Constanta (13 miles from the coast) and sent a distress signal, the Romanian publication Digi24 reported.

 

There were 13 crew members on board the vessel, including ten Ukrainians and three Azerbaijani citizens.

 

The attack resulted in a fire on board and one crew member died, three others went missing, and 9 were rescued.

 

According to the Romanian Navy, as of 11:40 a.m., a large-scale search and rescue operation was underway in the disaster area.

Recall that after recent attacks on merchant ships off the coast of Romania and Bulgaria, the European Parliament called on the EU to strengthen the protection of civilian shipping in the Black Sea, in particular, to deploy a naval operation to enhance shipping security in the region.
