Stratégie Grains analysts lowered the forecast for wheat production in the EU

In the March report, Stratégie Grains experts reduced the forecast of total wheat production in the EU in 2024/25 FY by 1.4 million tons to 128.8 million tons (133 million tons in 2023/24 FY), in particular soft wheat - by 1 million tons to 121.6 (125.7) million tons. Wheat production will decrease the most in France, Germany and Poland, while it may increase in Hungary.

The forecast for the total production of barley in the EU has been reduced by 1.3 to 51.8 million tons (47.4 million tons in 2023/24 MR), in particular, winter barley - by 0.6 to 28.3 (29.9) million tons and spring - by 0.7 to 23.5 (17.5) million tons.

At the same time, the forecast for corn production in the EU was increased by 0.3 to 64.4 (61.6) million tons due to an increase in the area sown by 4% to 8.8 million hectares.
