Analysts predict good wheat, barley and canola harvests in Australia in 2025/26 MY

Australia's wheat harvest in the 2025/26 MY will be 32-35 million tonnes, which will be in line with the previous season's level (34.1 million tonnes) and significantly exceed the 10-year average (27.6 million tonnes), Reuters reports based on a survey of analysts.
The Australian barley harvest in 2025/26 is expected to reach 13.1–16 million tonnes (13.3 million tonnes in 2024/25 and 11 million tonnes on average over 10 years), and canola - 5.8–7.2 million tonnes (6.1 million tonnes in 2024/25 and 4.8 million tonnes on average over 10 years).
It should be noted that the government agency ABARES publishes its harvest forecasts in early September.
Harvesting will begin in November-December, and its results will have a strong impact on world prices. It is worth noting that December wheat futures are currently trading $5-7/t more expensive than September ones.
