Analysts expect increased supplies of sunflower oil from the Black Sea region and Argentina

Oil World analysts predict that increased supplies of sunflower oil from the Black Sea region and Argentina will lead to a decrease in its prices to a greater extent than for alternative soybean and palm oils.

The high availability of competing oils and low demand from importers, including China, which plans to reduce consumption in the 2025/26 MY, are reducing buyers' interest in sunflower oil.

At the same time, the harvesting of a new sunflower crop, high yields in certain regions of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan, and increased supply are reducing speculative pressure on the market.

Sunflower oil prices have declined from levels last seen in late 2022 as shortage support has given way to pressure from increased competition from cheaper oils.

In October, forecasts of a low sunflower harvest in Ukraine and the Russian Federation led to an increase in prices, but now the market is experiencing an increase in the supply of sunflower oil and a decrease in demand for it.
