the USDA FAS Analysts predict an increase of gross yield of rapeseed by countries in the European Union in the season 2016/17 MG on 350 thousand tons in comparison with the previous season. Due to expansion of sowing areas under winter rapeseeds, particularly in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia, the next season will be able to collect a total of 22.4 million tons.
At the same time will be significantly reduced cultivation area of rapeseed in the UK since low prices make it unattractive to local farmers, and in Ukraine,
where, due to drought of seedlings obtained in 40 % less space than last year.
However, even the increase in rapeseed production will allow the EU to fully utilize available processing capacity. A limited number of proposals of canola on the world markets will become a hindrance to the creation of a European refiners stocks of imported raw materials. As a result, experts expect reduction of volumes of processing of rapeseed by countries in the EU in the new season at 100 thousand tons to 24 million tons.
it is Worth noting that analysts predict a decline in end-stocks of rapeseed in the season 2016/17 MG to the lowest in the EU over the past 13 years. These factors and strong demand for oil on world markets can lead to increased rates of rape in season 2016/17 MG.
