Algeria bought 600,000 tons of wheat at the international tender at the same price as in October

The Algerian state agency OAIS purchased 600,000 tons of wheat at an international tender at a price of approximately $263/t C&F, Reuters reports with reference to European traders.
Algeria does not officially announce the results of the tenders, so the volume of purchases and the price may change, but it is known that most of the wheat is grown in the Black Sea countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and the Russian Federation), as well as possible deliveries of the new crop from Argentina.
According to the terms of the tender, the shipment of wheat from the main supply regions, including Europe, was supposed to take place in two periods: December 1-15 and December 16-31, while deliveries from South America or Australia were supposed to take place a month earlier.
In the previous tender on October 8, Algeria purchased 510-570 thousand tons of wheat at a price of approximately $262.5/t C&F, preventing French companies from bidding and prohibiting bidders from offering wheat of French origin.
French companies were allowed to participate in the latest tender, but were prohibited from offering French-made wheat, traders said.
