Ukrainian farmers finished harvesting wheat and barley and started harvesting sunflowers

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agriculture, as of August 15, 28.459 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed in Ukraine from 6.713 million hectares or 61% of the area with an average yield of 4.24 tons/ha.

Currently collected:

• wheat - 21.68 million tons from 4.85 million hectares (100% of the planned) with a yield of 4.47 tons/ha;
• barley - 5.48 million tons from 1.4 million hectares (100%) with a yield of 3.92 tons/ha;
• peas - 458.5 thousand tons from 207.6 thousand hectares (99%) with a yield of 2.21 tons/ha;
• buckwheat - 2.4 thousand tons from 1.6 thousand ha (2%) with a yield of 1.44 tons/ha;
• millet - 9.5 thousand tons from 5.32 thousand hectares (6%) with a yield of 1.79 tons/ha;
• other grain and leguminous crops - 827.7 thousand t on 255.3 thousand ha (72%) with a yield of 3.24 t/ha.

In addition, the following amount of oil crops was collected on the specified date:

• rapeseed - 3.358 million tons from 1.23 million hectares (98% of planned areas) with a yield of 2.74 tons/ha,
• soybeans - 1 thousand tons (as a week ago) from 0.7 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.52 tons/ha,
• sunflower - 3.8 thousand tons from 4.2 thousand hectares (out of the planned 4.89 million hectares) with a yield of 0.9 tons/ha.

The pace of grain export from Ukraine is ahead of last year's by 60%. According to the State Customs Service, in 2024/25 MR (as of August 15) Ukraine exported 5.529 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, of which 1.827 million tons - in August, while on this date last year these figures were 3.299 and 1.025 million tons in accordance.

In terms of crops, exports are:

• wheat - 2.608 million tons (1.328 million tons for the same period of 2023/24 MR),
• barley - 640 (397) thousand tons,
• rye - 0.3 (0.6) thousand tons,
• corn - 2,061 (1,568) million tons.

The export of flour in the current season amounted to 7.3 thousand tons, of which wheat - 6.6 thousand tons, while in the same period of 2023/24 MR, 15.8 thousand tons of flour were exported, in particular wheat - 15.2 thousand tons.
