Turkey and the UN are working on a new agreement on the grain corridor, but Ukraine wants to resume shipping without conditions from the Russian Federation

Turkey and the UN are developing projects to restore the grain corridor to avoid "global problems, migration and instability in underdeveloped countries," Sabah reports.

Technical negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation may take place in Istanbul, and on August 25 the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry will visit Ukraine.

The Bild publication published official correspondence between the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation and Turkey, according to which Turkey, Qatar and the Russian Federation are working on an agreement on the export of Russian grain, which will be an addition to the Black Sea Initiative.

We will remind you that the authorities of the Russian Federation have declared their readiness to provide Africa with its grain within the framework of the World Food Program, as an alternative to supplies from Ukraine.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when the Russian Federation declared the northwestern part of the Black Sea the site of a counter-terrorist operation, there were about 100 ships in the ports of Ukraine. Some of them left after the start of the grain corridor, but another 40 vessels still remain in the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhnoye.

Last week, the first ship left Odesa through the humanitarian corridor announced by Ukraine, which should restore navigation in the Ukrainian waters of the Black Sea. However, for vessels intended, for example, for the transportation of fuel and lubricants, the danger of moving along such a route remains.

In order to restore sea exports, Ukraine is developing a scheme of insurance by international companies of grain ships that will enter the Black Sea ports, - said O. Hryban, Advisor to the Minister of Economy on Investments, Innovations and Military Risk Insurance. It can become operational as early as September, and will provide for the insurance of 5 to 30 ships (depending on the level of risk sharing between the government and private insurance companies) that will move through Ukrainian waters.

The details of the insurance agreement are not yet known, but the developers have reported that the scheme will cover damage to ships leaving Ukrainian ports, and the risks will be shared between policyholders and the state bank, which will provide a letter of credit as security. State risks will be provided by the State Road Fund of the country, created for the repair of Ukrainian roads, which is financed from the tax on the sale of fuel.

The Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine considers the extension of the Grain Agreement exclusively a geopolitical loss, as the international community will get the impression that Ukraine has voluntarily refused to export other goods. It is not necessary to legitimize the piratical actions of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea, otherwise we will not be able to fully restore maritime trade, and the Russian Federation will be able to stop our cargoes at any moment.

Ukraine was able to open the sea front and secured a strong negotiating position, so it should insist on resuming the export of all types of goods by sea.
