Ukraine is increasing exports through sea ports thanks to the operation of the grain corridor ensured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to the Spike Brokers company, as of November 24, 2.1 million tons of agricultural products were exported from Ukraine by water transport, of which 740,000 tons went through the Danube ports and 1.4 million tons went through the ports of Odesa, Pivdenny, and Chornomorsk. 400,000 tons of agricultural products are planned for loading in the Danube ports, and 1.3 million tons in the Black Sea ports.

Freight rates for transportation in all directions have stabilized, although rates for transportation to China have risen sharply. This is facilitated by the limited supply of the navy, which agrees to work in the conditions of military risks.

Currently, rates for transportation by water transport are:

• Izmail — Constanta, Romania — 22-28 €/t (1-3 thousand tons),
• Chornomorsk — Eastern Italy — $40-45/t (16-20 thousand tons).
• Chornomorsk — Spain — $37-43/t (25-35 thousand tons),
• Chornomorsk — Spain — $35-41/t (55-65 thousand tons).

We will remind that as of November 24, 153 civilian ships have already passed through the new grain corridor.

According to the State Customs Service, in the 2023/24 MR, as of November 29, 12.92 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were exported from Ukraine (17.56 million tons for this period last year), of which 3.68 million tons were exported in November (4 .35 million tons last year), in particular:

• wheat – 5.85 million tons, of which 1.22 million tons in November (6.73 and 1.732 million tons last year, respectively),
• barley – 871 thousand tons, of which 189 thousand tons in November (1.45 million tons and 347 thousand tons),
• corn – 6.07 million tons, of which 2.27 million tons (9.3 and 2.25 million tons) in November.
