Freight rates for the transportation of corn from the ports of Great Odesa to China and Spain continue to fall
According to Atria Brokers, freight rates for grain transportation from Danube ports remained stable last week, while rates for handling cargo from deep-sea ports in Odesa continued to decline. Panamax freight rates also decreased slightly.
As of December 14, the bids for the transportation of 6,000 tons of corn by fire from the Danube ports were:
- in the direction of the eastern coast of Greece — $32-34/t,
- Eastern Mediterranean — $38-40/t,
- of the east coast of Italy — 41-43 $/t,
- Israel — $43-46/t,
- Spain — $46-48/t,
- of Spanish Seville — $48-50/t.
Freight rates to Marmara dropped by $1/t to $28/t.
The cost of freight for the transportation of corn in handy sizes decreased by an average of $2/t and amounted to:
- in the direction of the Mediterranean coast of Spain - $38-40/t,
- of the Mediterranean coast of Egypt - $35-36/t,
- Italy – $37-39/t,
- Tunisia – $40-42/t.
The freight for the transportation of corn by panamax from the ports of Great Odesa to China decreased by $5-6/t to $70-72/t, to the Mediterranean coast of Spain — by $1/t to $44-46/t.
Rates for the transportation of corn by barge to Constanta dropped by 1-2 €/t to 20 €/t, and for the transportation of sunflower seeds to Ruse / Silistra – by 4 €/t to 26 €/t.
