Recall that on February 9, the Cabinet of ministers supported the resolution on the liberalization of transportation of bulky and heavy cargo and adopted amendments to the resolution "on traffic rules" and "on measures to preserve highways", which introduce European standards of dimensional and weight restrictions.

According to the participants of the action, such changes grant a car with a semi-trailer the right to travel with a cargo of 44 tons, and prohibit the transportation of such cargo to a non-container ship that carries a trailer, although in the second case the load on the road is less.

Oleg Luchin, head of the State Supervision Department in Cherkasy region, said that the rally is going smoothly, and the only demand of the strikers is to organize negotiations with the authorities, in particular with representatives of the Ministry of infrastructure, Ukrtransbezopasnosti and the highway service. "The document was adopted in a hurry, but the needs of carriers and the compliance of their equipment with the specified parameters were not taken into account. Therefore, about 300-350 people went on strike, as they all have families, families and businesses that will be affected by the new rules. In order to avoid illegal road closures and rallies, I advised them to form a working group and hold a meeting with representatives of the relevant structures by the end of the week," Luchin said.

At the same time, one of the participants of the action, Alexander Tsapok, said that if the authorities ignore this issue, truck drivers will block traffic in other regions of Ukraine.
