The cost of railway transportation of grain in April will continue to decrease

The decrease in the volume of grain transportation is forcing rail carriers to lower their transportation rates in order to compete with truck carriers for cargo. At the same time, agricultural producers and traders continue to increase their own fleets of trucks and grain wagons, which reduces the demand for Ukrzaliznytsia wagons.

Since April 1, Ukrzaliznytsia has reduced the rental rate for its own grain wagons and conventional type 972 flour wagons to UAH 4,050/day (without VAT) compared to UAH 4,200/day in March.

At the same time, in April, the daily rate for the use of Ukrzaliznytsia mineral trucks for the transportation of grain cargoes will increase compared to March from UAH 1,707 to UAH 1,800, and for the use of cement trucks for the same purpose - from UAH 100 to UAH 650/day.

The rate for the use of tankers for food transportation will also increase from UAH 1,400/day in March to UAH 1,500/day in April.

The cost of renting half-cars in April will remain unchanged at UAH 1,500/day.
