UZA increased the forecast of the grain harvest in Ukraine in 2023 to 81.6 million tons

The Ukrainian Grain Association (UZA) increased the forecast for the harvest of grain and oil crops in Ukraine in 2023 by 1.1 million tons to 81.6 million tons, while it estimated the 2022 harvest at 73.8 million tons. The estimate was revised due to favorable weather conditions conditions and better than expected corn and sunflower yields.

According to UZA's forecast, grain exports in 2023/24 FY may reach 50 million tons (58 million tons in 2022/23 FY), but only if supplies through the Black Sea ports are restored and logistics costs of alternative routes are improved and reduced, in particular through the Danube .

According to UZA estimates, wheat production will amount to 22 million tons, of which 16 million tons will be exported, given 4.4 million tons of initial stocks. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 22.4 million tons of wheat have been collected so far (20.2 million tons in 2022 and a record 33 million tons in 2021).

UZA experts left the forecast for the barley harvest at 5.8 million tons, and exports within 3 million tons. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 5.9 million tons of barley have been collected so far (5.8 million tons in 2022 and 10.1 million tons in 2021).

The forecast for corn production was increased by 0.8 million tons to 28.8 million tons, and for exports to 23 million tons. As of November 2, 2023, 17.1 million tons were threshed from 60% of the area, while in 2022 the harvest was 27.3 million tons, and in 2021 - 37.6 million tons.

The sunflower harvest is forecast at the level of 14.2 million tons, processing - 13.2 million tons, and export - 0.6 million tons. As of 02.11.23, 11.3 million tons of sunflower were harvested, while in 2022 the harvest was 11.1 million tons, and in 2021 - 16.9 million tons.

UZA estimated the rapeseed harvest at 4.2 million tons, and the export at 3.7 million tons, although according to the Ministry of Agriculture, 4 million tons of oilseeds were harvested in 2023.

UZA estimates the soybean harvest at 4.8 million tons, and exports at 3.3 million tons, while according to the Ministry of Agriculture, 4.6 million tons of soybeans were harvested in Ukraine.
