Ukraine has insured all vessels operating in the ports of the Danube - Shmyhal

All merchant vessels entering the Danube ports for loading or unloading are now insured by Ukraine. In addition, the issue of insurance for vessels moving through the "grain corridor" is being considered, Prime Minister of Ukraine D. Shmyhal said at a conference of ambassadors of Ukraine.

"All merchant vessels importing or exporting goods through the Danube ports are insured. And now the government is discussing and will soon make a decision on the insurance of ships and relevant companies that will move along the "grain corridor" to the Black Sea ports," D. Shmyhal said.

The government understands that any attack by the Russians or their damage to a merchant ship will significantly complicate the work with partners regarding the "grain corridor", since most ship owners will avoid calling at Ukrainian ports.

"To prevent this from happening, we need the support of partners, and we will insure such risks at the expense of our budget," Shmyhal added.

It will be recalled that after the Russian shelling of the port of Izmail, two ships headed there for loading refused to dock.
