Ukraine stops exporting agricultural crops to Poland before the start of the new season, but leaves transit

Before the start of the new season (July 1, 2023), Ukraine will stop exporting to Poland four main agricultural crops - wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed. The Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine, M. Solskyi, agreed on this at a meeting with the recently appointed head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, R. Telus, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports.

The ministers also agreed that within a week, new rules for the transit of agricultural crops from Ukraine through Poland will be developed.

"The situation is difficult not only for Ukrainian, but also for Polish farmers. Everyone understands who is to blame for this, but Ukraine and Poland must solve the problem. The transit of Ukrainian products through Poland to other EU countries or third countries remains, and the transit procedure will be simplified, which will reduce the downtime of transport and queues at the crossing points," M. Solskyi commented on the meeting of ministers.

According to the results of the meeting, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy recommended to exporters to redirect cargo through other countries during the development of new transit rules.
