Ukraine should speed up the land reform, says Solskyi, Minister of Agrarian Policy

In response to the appeal of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (UAR) to the President of Ukraine with the demand to postpone for two years after the end of the war the decision to increase the maximum area of agricultural land allowed to be sold in one hand from 100 to 10 thousand hectares, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky said , that the land reform should not be postponed, and on the contrary, it should be strengthened. He expressed this opinion on November 30 during the discussion "The land market in Ukraine: condition, efficiency, transparency", reports Ukrinform.

The minister considers the fact that little is said about the reform to be a positive feature of the reform. This testifies to the effective and working mechanism of the opening and functioning of the land market, although at one time it caused heated discussions.

The minister also noted that most Ukrainians, even those who follow the progress of the land reform, almost did not notice how during its implementation the relevant legislation was changed several times in order to simplify procedures.

"The development of the land reform should not be postponed and postponed 'for later', on the contrary, it should be strengthened," insists M. Solskyi.
