In October, Ukrzaliznytsia increased the volume of grain shipments to Ukrainian ports

In October, Ukrzaliznytsia transported more than 790,000 tons of grain cargo for export, of which 349,000 tons went to ports and 441,000 tons to western border crossings. A representative of the UZ reported this at a meeting with participants of the grain market on October 19.

Against the backdrop of the intensification of ship traffic through the Black Sea Corridor, the volume of wagon unloading in the ports of Greater Odessa increased to 450 wagons/day. Currently, 2,300 wagons with grain are heading in that direction, while 2,100 wagons are heading to the Danube ports.

During the last week, the transfer of wagons with grain and pulp through the western border crossings decreased by 10 wagons/day to 475 wagons/day. The situation remains difficult at the Vadul-Siret-Dornesti crossing with Romania, where 1,700 wagons are headed, of which more than 600 are with grain. The situation at the crossings with Poland is also tense, in particular, a large number of wagons with pulp, meal and oil have accumulated at Izov-Hrubeszów. 1,600 wagons are heading in the direction of Yagodin-Dorogusk, half of which are carrying grain.

At the meeting held the other day, it was decided to introduce a strict schedule for the transfer of wagons with the involvement of the Polish infrastructure operator. If this does not improve the situation in the near future, then the UZ will have to introduce a convention or stop the approval of plans.

In total, 12,700 wagons, of which more than 2,500 with grain, are moving to the western border crossings. In October, the accumulation of wagons decreased by 700 units.
