In 2023, Ukraine exported $800 million worth of chicken

During 2023, Ukraine exported 425,000 tons of chicken for a total of $800 million, the portal http://shareuapotential.com reports. If in natural volume, exports grew by 3% compared to the previous year, then in monetary terms it decreased by 6% due to a significant decrease in the average sales price in the second half of 2022.

According to preliminary data, 35.9 thousand tons of poultry meat were exported in December 2023, which almost corresponds to the average monthly indicator of 2023, while in December 2022 the export of chicken amounted to 37.7 thousand tons.

If in the first half of 2022 the average export price of Ukrainian chicken was $2.2/kg, then at the beginning of 2023 it fell to $1.7/kg, and in the second half of 2023 it recovered to $1.9/kg .

A significant decrease in global prices for grain and oil crops led to a decrease in the cost of chicken production against the background of relatively stable chicken prices throughout the year.

We will remind that the largest exporter of poultry meat in Ukraine in recent years is the company Myronivsky Hliboprodukt with a market share of 80-90%.
