Wheat prices in Ukraine and the EU growing in Chicago
In Chicago continues speculative growth of prices for wheat. With investors closing short positions on Wednesday, the December contract rose to a month high.
Experts predict the volume of weekly export sales of wheat in the range of 350-550 thousand tons.
The December quotations of wheat in the U.S.
- soft wheat SRW in Chicago by 0.46 $/t to 162,86 $/t,
- for hard wheat HRW in Kansas city by 0.92 $/t to 163,23 $/t
- on a hard spring wheat HRS in Minneapolis by 0.64 $/t to 236,44 $/t
The Paris stock exchange on Wednesday strengthened after Chicago with a speculative component.
Experts surprised by a two-day growth of quotations of French wheat on the background of bearish fundamental factors, chief among which is an abundant harvest of wheat in Russia.
- December futures milling wheat on MATIF rose to 1.75 €/t to 161,25 €/t (191,82 $/t).
In Ukraine, wheat prices are rising because sale of grain at competitive prices do not exist. During the week in the port prices for feed wheat rose from 150 $/t to 154-155 $/t for wheat with protein 11.5% from 159 $/t to 161-162 $/ton, protein 12.5% and remained at 167-168 $/t
After the intensification of procurement traders, refiners have also started to raise prices, today delivery factory offers for feed wheat 4200-4300 UAH/MT for food – 4600-4800 UAH/ton.
