Freight rates for the transportation of corn from the Danube ports continue to fall

Last week, freight rates from Danube ports continued to decrease, Atria Brokers reports.

Thus, rates for the transportation of corn by coasters of 6,000 tons from the ports of Reni and Ismail to the east coast of Italy fell by $3/t and as of October 13 reached $65-68/t, to Spain and Seville by $2/t to 71 -$73/t and $78-80/t, respectively, to the Eastern Mediterranean - from $65-67/t to $65/t.

Rates to Marmara remained unchanged at $55/t, the eastern coast of Greece at $57-59/t, Crete at $61-63/t and Israel at $70/t.

Handysize corn rates to the eastern Mediterranean fell by $2/t to $58/t, and remained unchanged at $60-62/t to the east coast of Italy and Israel, and $65-67/t to the Mediterranean coast of Spain.

Rates for the transportation of corn by panamax from the ports of Odesa, Pivdenny and Chornomorsk to China amounted to $72/t, to the Mediterranean coast of Spain — $51-54/t.

The reduction of freight rates from Danube ports is facilitated by the increase in the number of vessels chartered to Black Sea ports. The new grain corridor without the participation of the Russian Federation made it possible to intensify exports and resume purchases in the ports of Great Odesa.

We will remind you that the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine plans to increase pilotage fees for Danube ports by 20%, and has already submitted the corresponding draft law for public discussion.
