Freight rates for sea transportation decreased by $3-7/t on average

According to Spike Brokers, as of October 23, the total export and planned shipment of agricultural products by sea and river in October reaches about 2.3 million tons.

"Export deliveries by sea are gradually becoming more active. From the ports of the Black Sea, the remaining products that were there at the time of termination of the grain agreement are still mainly shipped," Spike Brokers reports.

Freight rates for sea transportation decreased by approximately $3-7/t depending on the direction of delivery.

Currently, the rates of transportation from the port of Izmail by water transport are:

• Constanta (Romania) – 35-40 €/t (1-3 thousand tons),
• Eastern Italy – $65-70/t (4-6 thousand tons),
• Greece – $50-53/t (3-4 thousand tons).

From the port of Chornomorsk, the transportation rates are:

• Spain – $55-60/t (25-35 thousand tons),
• Spain - $40-50/t (55-65 thousand tons).

We will remind that during the period of operation of the temporary humanitarian corridor, Ukraine exported almost 700,000 tons of grain, mainly to African and European countries. But the vast majority of agricultural products are still exported through the Danube ports.
