Heat and drought in Argentina are increasingly worrying traders

Very dry weather in Argentina at the end of January is increasingly worrying traders as it could negatively affect soybean production.

In Brazil, during January 21-27, the trend of precipitation distribution changed: in the south, it was less than usual, and in the north of the state of Mato Grosso, it was more. According to WeatherTrends360, the last week of January in Rio Grande do Sul was the coldest and fifth driest in the last 30 years. But thanks to the decrease in temperatures, the drought did not damage the crops, especially since the amount of precipitation in the current season was very high.

Rains are needed for crops in much of central and northern Brazil, but could delay soybean harvesting and second-crop corn planting. According to forecasts, rains will continue in the central and northern regions of the country in February, while the weather will be drier in the south.

In Argentina this season, the weather was more favorable for growing agricultural crops than in Brazil.

Even the predicted heat will not cause as much damage as last year, when prolonged heat and drought led to a significant reduction in the harvest.

According to WeatherTrends360, the end of January in the country will be the 2nd hottest and 4th driest in the last 30 years, but already in February the intensity of precipitation will increase.
