The work of the "grain corridor" is again blocked by the Russians

According to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, on April 17, the Russian delegation as part of the SCC again blocked the inspection of vessels in the territorial waters of Turkey.

"Since April 10, representatives of the Russian Federation unilaterally stopped the registration of vessels indicated by Ukrainian ports when forming the inspection plan, and began to independently select vessels in the queue, which contradicts the terms of the grain agreement and is unacceptable for Ukraine," the ministry reports.

As a result, for the second time during the operation of the grain corridor, an inspection plan was not drawn up, and no inspection of vessels was carried out.

In April, representatives of the Russian Federation began to impose their own criteria for the selection of vessels for inspection, which can be considered interference in the work of Ukrainian ports and exporters. Since April 14, without any explanation, Russian inspectors have refused to register 3 ships (2 of which are bound for China) for which cargo was already waiting in the "South" port.

"Ukraine categorically disagrees with the new demands of the Russians and opposes their interference in the work of the ports," the Ministry of Infrastructure says.

On April 18, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov will meet with the Minister of Defense of the country Hulusi Akar in the Turkish city of Kayseri to discuss the work of the grain agreement concluded at the initiative of Turkey.

Ukraine hopes that Turkey and the UN will influence the Russian Federation and resolve the issue of the smooth operation of the grain corridor in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
