Polish carriers threaten to block the border with Ukraine by the end of the year

Polish carriers threaten to block all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine due to increased competition amid the liberalization of international transportation between Ukraine and the EU.

This is reported by the Ukravtoprom association with reference to the International Transport Association of Ukraine.

The first campaign, which will last for two months, is planned to start on November 3 near the Korchov checkpoint. But if earlier Polish carriers blocked only one border crossing, now they promise to block all exit points from Ukraine.

The demands of the protest actions are as follows:

• restore the permit system for carriers from Ukraine;
• to strengthen the requirements of the rules of transportation under the ECMT for foreign carriers;
• ban the registration in Poland of companies whose finances are located outside the EU;
• create a separate queue for cars with EU license plates in the E-queue;
• create a separate queue for empty trucks at all crossings;
• grant access to the "Path" system.
