Polish transporters blocked the road demanding the cancellation of the permit system for Ukrainian drivers

From 12:00 on May 4, Polish transporters started a strike in front of the Dorogusk checkpoint, demanding a review of the cancellation of the permit system for Ukrainian transporters. According to preliminary data, the strike has been agreed with the law enforcement agencies of Poland until June 3.

At the same time, the strikers will not limit the pass

• for departure from Poland — humanitarian aid goods, live animals, regular buses,
• for entry into Poland - regular buses and transit goods subject to escort by representatives of the customs service.

The head of the Confederation in the Lublin Voivodeship and the owner of the transport company, Rafal Mekler, confirmed the information about blocking the roads and said that only one car will pass through the specified checkpoint per hour.

According to him, the demand of the strikers is "a change in the system of permits on the part of Ukraine, as Polish carriers receive fines from the Ukrainian authorities for the lack of permits, which are as if not foreseen." Among the protesters is a transporter who has five loaded cars, but is afraid to go to Ukraine, lest he receive a fine of 800 euros for each of them.

"The situation is difficult, because the Ukrainian side arbitrarily interprets the rules, while Poland allows free activity without any restrictions," R. Mekler added.
