The Ministry of Agriculture of Canada has increased the forecasts of the grain harvest in 2024/25 MR
In the March report, the experts of MSF of Canada (AAFC) increased the forecast of wheat production in the country in 2024/25 MR by 0.7 to 34.6 million tons (32 million tons in 2023/24 MR), domestic consumption by 0.2 to 9.3 (8.6) million tons, exports - up to 24.6 (23.5) million tons, and final stocks - up to 4.4 (3.6) million tons. In particular, the forecast for durum wheat production increased by 0.3 to 5.7 (4) million tons, exports – by 0.1 to 4.5 (3.2) million tons, final stocks – by 0.1 to 0.8 (0.5) million t.
The barley production forecast was increased by 0.2 to 9.5 (8.9) million tons, and the final stocks - by 0.2 to 1.3 (1) million tons.
The forecast for corn production was also increased by 0.6 to 14.9 (15.1) million tons, domestic consumption - by 0.3 to 15.1 (15.7) million tons, final stocks - by 0.3 to 2, 2 (1.9) million tons.
At the same time, the forecast for canola production in 2024/25 was reduced by 0.3 to 18.1 (17.9) million tons. At the same time, its domestic consumption will amount to 0.9 million tons, and final stocks will be 1.7 million tons.
