The Cabinet of Ministers determined the conditions for automatic licensing of sunflower exports

After Bulgaria agreed to liberalize the sunflower export licensing regime, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the automatic sunflower export licensing regime to Bulgaria. From now on, obtaining a license to export sunflower to Bulgaria does not require approval and separate consultations with the country's authorities.

Deputy Minister of Economy - Trade Representative of Ukraine T. Kachka believes that this step will simplify exports and support sunflower prices in Ukraine, which remain under the pressure of increased offers from producers.

According to Spike Brokers, as inventories increase, processors reduce the pace of purchases, which leads to an increase in queues at factories.

Bulgarian processors are experiencing a shortage of raw materials, which threatens to stop their enterprises, so they expect a simplification of the procedure for obtaining licenses for the supply of sunflowers from Ukraine. Sunflower oil prices in Bulgaria decreased by $10/t during the week to $800-820/t.

Currently, sunflower prices are:

  • DAP Ukraine (regions) – $320-340/t without VAT,
  • DAP Bulgaria (center) – $440-450/t,
  • CIF Bulgaria (port) – $430-440/t,
  • CIF Romania (port) – $420-430/t.

The export of soybeans from Ukraine remains stable at the level of 300-400 thousand tons per month, despite the decrease in prices. Yes, soybean prices in Turkey have already fallen below $500/ton.

Currently, the prices for GMO soybeans are:

  • DAP Ukraine (Odesa) – $420-430/t,
  • DAP Ukraine (Danube) – $430-440/t,
  • DAP Ukraine (border) – 360-370 €/t,
  • DAP Italy (mon) – 440-450 €/t,
  • DAP Turkey (mon) – $490-500/t,
  • CIF Egypt (port) – $490-495/t.

According to the BAGE exchange, as of January 31, 11.5% of sunflowers were harvested in Argentina. During the week, 1.8% of the area was threshed, and the average yield increased from 1.65 to 1.68 t/ha. The production forecast remains at the level of 3.8 million tons, but may be increased under favorable conditions. We will remind that the sunflower sowing area increased by 3% compared to the previous season to 1.85 million hectares.
