Export rail transportation of grain grew by 40% in November

In November of this year, Ukrzaliznytsia increased the volume of freight transportation by 4% compared to October to 14 million tons, which was 33.8% higher than in November 2022 and became a record value since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the company's press service reported.

"Positive dynamics have been going on for several months, which made it possible to reach a record number of shipments since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. It is important that not only domestic transportation increased, but also export transportation, which is critically important for the country. The work of the sea corridor contributes to the growth of grain exports," said Yevhen Lyashchenko, chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia".

The lion's share of transportation in November was traditionally made up of grain cargoes, the volume of which increased by 13% compared to November 2022 to 3 million tons. Among export transportations, grain cargoes also became the leaders with a share of 2.4 million tons, which exceeds the indicator of October 2023 by 40.4%, and in November 2022 - by 13%.

Transportation of grain cargoes in the direction of sea ports increased by 1.7 times compared to October to 1.7 million tons, while transportation through border crossings decreased by 4.2% to 0.72 million tons.

We will remind that "Ukrzaliznytsia" created the branch "Operator of near-port stations", whose staff included employees of the directorate for work with near-port stations of the regional branch "Odesa Railway".
