Experts believe that Ukraine, together with the UN, will be able to unblock civil shipping in the Black Sea if the Russian Federation withdraws from the grain agreement

Against the background of the Russian government's statements about withdrawing from the grain agreement, Ukrainian experts are discussing the need to restore civil shipping in the Black Sea with the help of civilized countries and without the participation of the Russian Federation.

Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on special assignments Olha Trofimtseva wrote in her Telegram that "there is a 99.9% probability that the Russian Federation will withdraw from the grain agreement in July, as it has almost completed its own terminal for the export of ammonia, which will replace the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline. What will Ukraine do? The Ministry of Infrastructure is talking about plan B, which I have not seen. But if we are talking about 20 million hryvnias allocated for compensation due to damage to ships, then this is nothing, and this is not a plan."

We will remind that on May 17, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and the Russian Federation agreed to extend the grain agreement until July 18, but the UN said that it never fully worked.

The head of the Center for Political Analysis, Volodymyr Golovko, believes that by intensifying diplomatic work, Ukraine, together with the international community, will be able to restore civil shipping in the Black Sea in the event of Russia's withdrawal from the agreement. It is necessary to offer the African countries friendly to the Russian Federation or China cooperation within the framework of their "peace formula" to ensure world food security. In addition to the UN and Turkey, the grain initiative can include an international monitoring group made up of representatives of neutral countries, which as a third party will guarantee that civilian ships without military products enter and leave Ukraine, whose attack by the Russian Federation will be considered an act of international piracy and terrorism.

"Representatives of neutral countries must testify that civilian ships enter the ports of Ukraine from the Bosphorus without any military component, because the Russian Federation declares that it does not threaten civilian ships. Therefore, our diplomats should ensure that any attack by the Russians on such ships is considered an act of international piracy and leads to new sanctions, up to the closure of the Bosphorus for the movement of Russian civilian ships. This is a formidable task for our diplomats, who have already reached an agreement on the supply of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine," Golovko said.

We will remind that the Vice-Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov appealed to the world community to open the Black Sea ports of Ukraine for all types of cargo in order to support the country's economy.

At the same time, US representative Kurt Walker called on NATO countries to respond militarily to attacks on commercial vessels in international waters by the Russian Federation, regarding it as an act of piracy.
