Automobile export transportation creates a significant competition for railway transportation
Export transportation of agricultural products by rail in the direction of the western borders with the EU continues to decrease and amounted to an average of 393 wagons/day in December, Spike Brokers reports.
On average, Ukraine sends two European trains across the border to Poland, one each to Hungary and Slovakia, and almost three to Romania.
The average number of wagons unloaded in Black Sea ports during the last week amounted to 950-1050 wagons/day. In addition, the average daily number of wagons moving in the direction of the Black Sea ports also increased.
The cost of railway transport in Ukraine has stabilized against the background of increased competition from road transport.
Currently, the market rates for railway transportation are:
- Kharkiv region — Danube ports — $47-56/t,
- Lviv region — border with Poland — $25-31/t,
- Lviv region — border with Hungary — 25-35 $/t,
- Lviv region — Odesa — $40-42/t,
- Rivne region — border with Poland — $25-32/t,
- Rivne region — Odesa — $39-45/t,
- Khmelnytskyi region — border with Poland — $31-33/t,
- Chop, Ukraine — Mon. Italy — 50-60 €/t.
We will remind that "Ukrzaliznytsia" made a grain truck with its own capacities, optimally adapted for movement on a 1520 mm track and a Euro track of 1435 mm, the main part of components and materials for which is produced in Ukraine.
