Due to increased precipitation forecasts rapeseed production in India, EU and Australia

Global rapeseed production is reduced for the third season in a row after a two-year drought in Australia and the reduction of the yield in Canada and the EU. In 2017/18 MG it was 74,991 million tonnes in 2018/19 Mr – 72,369 million tonnes in 2019/20 Mr – 67,749 million tons.

Favorable precipitation in India and Australia will increase forecasts rape harvest, however, world production will not change significantly, because production in the EU, Canada and Ukraine will remain at the same level.

In this season, Canada will continue to reduce acreage of canola, as prices remain low 466 CAD/t or 348 $/t, whereas world production of soybeans will increase from 340 million tonnes in the current season to 374 million tonnes in 2020/21 MG.

Indian processors Association Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) predicts that in 2020 the production of rapeseed in the country will increase compared to the previous year by 4% to 7.8 million tons due to favorable weather conditions, particularly in Rajasthan, where they grow half indijskogo rape.

In Australia favorable precipitation is allowed to increase acreage, so the production of grains and oilseeds in 2020/21 MG will return to average. Experts ABARES expect rapeseed production to increase by 13% to 2.6 million tons, and exports fell 21% to 2 million tonnes.

the Agency Strategie Grains has increased compared to the previous estimate, the forecast of rapeseed production in the EU by 0.2 million tonnes to 17.9 million tonnes, which is 6% higher than collected in the previous season, 16.9 million tons.

In Ukraine in comparison with the previous season, the acreage under winter rape decreased by 15% to 1.1 million hectares, however, due to drought during planting seedlings in some places is not received, so the areas to clean will be corrected, and the rapeseed crop is reduced to 2.3-2.5 million tons, whereas in 2019, it amounted to 3.3 million tons.

May futures on rapeseed on Euronext yesterday decreased by 1 €/t to 384,75 €/t or 428 $/t, and the August – to 376,75 €/t or 417,4 $/t. this year, the highest level reached 10 January February futures, which grew to 416.5 €/t or to $455/t against the background of declining global demand and increasing soybean production drop in the price of oil and further apostatise the price of rapeseed.
