Ukraine completes sowing of grain and oilseeds, the harvest of which in 2021 will exceed 100 million tons

< span style="font-size:14px;" > despite the delay in field work, Ukrainian farmers are completing sowing, and heavy precipitation continues to improve production forecasts.

< span style="font-size:14px;" > according to the estimates of the minister of agricultural policy of Ukraine R. Leshchenko, the harvest of grain and oilseeds in 2021/22 MG may reach a record 100 million tons or more, while experts of the Ukrainian grain Association predict it at 96.25 million tons, which is 14.5% higher than the previous season due to good wintering conditions and favorable spring weather.

grain exports in the current season amounted to 40.85 million tons, which is 12.44 million tons or 23.34% lower than the corresponding indicator of the previous season – 53.29 million tons. < / span> < / p>

< span style="font-size:14px;">so, compared to the same period in 2019/20 MG, exports decreased:< / span>< / p>

• < span style="font-size:14px;">wheat – by 4.3 million tons or 21.6% to 15.62 million tons, < / span> < / li>
• < span style="font-size:14px;">barley - by 660 thousand tons or 13.76% to 4.13 million tons, < / span> < / li>
• corn – by 7.48 million tons or 26.83% to 20.4 million tons < / span> < / li>

< span style="font-size:14px;" > the rating of leading domestic grain exporters (shippers) in the current season is headed by Kernel, Nibulon and Louis Dreyfus.

< span style="font-size:14px;">kernel Group remains the main exporter of Ukrainian grain by a fairly large margin from its closest competitors, with a share in total exports of 17% or 6.4 million tons. despite the unfavorable market situation, it increased exports by 6% compared to the same period of the previous season.

< span style="font-size:14px;">Nibulon, which ranks second in the 2020/21 season exporting rating, reduced grain exports by 9% to 3.57 million tons compared to the previous season, and LDC, which ranks third, by 5% to 3.5 million tons.< / span> < / p>

< span style="font-size:14px;" > only kernel and Nibulon are local companies, while others are international traders, as well as Agroprosperis - one of the largest domestic agricultural holdings with a powerful trading direction, owned by the American NCH group.

< span style="font-size:14px;">in terms of crops, the main wheat exporters in my 2020/21 were Nibulon and kernel (1.7 million tons each), LDC (1.4 million tons), Cargill (1.2 million tons) and Sierentz Global Merchants (1 million tons).

< span style="font-size:14px;" > kernel (4.1 million tons) is the undisputed leader in corn exports, followed by LDC and Cofco (1.5 million tons each).
