Rates of sowing of spring crops in Ukraine and Russia twice last year

Due to early spring low temperatures and rainfall, the sowing campaign in Ukraine and Russia more actively last year, which gives hope for obtaining a good harvest.

According to the Ministry of agrarian policy, on April 4, in Ukraine grain and legumes planted 1.7 million hectares or 75% of the planned, in particular:

peas – 247 thsd ha (73%),

wheat – 118 thousand hectares (71%),

oats – 112 thousand hectares (57%).

• barley – 1.2 mln ha (77% of plan)

in addition, the sugar beets planted 76 hectares, or 31% of the forecast, sunflower – 123 thousand hectares or 2 % of the target.

energized Winter crops on the area of 7,4 million ha or 97% of the planned, in particular:

the barley – 987 thsd ha (98%),

rye 111 thousand hectares (97%),

raps – 1.3 million hectares (98%).

In Russia on a specified date spring grains sown 903 thousand hectares or 3.1% of the forecast (2018 – 348,3 thousand hectares), in particular:

wheat – 28,3 thousand hectares (0,2%).

• barley – 401,8 th. ha (5,1% of the target),

in addition, the sugar beet sown at 96.2 thousand hectares or 8.5% of the forecast (2018 – 15.8 thousand ha) and spring rapeseed – 3,8 thousand hectares or 0.3 % of the target.
