The pace of grain exports from Ukraine is 20% higher than last year

Ukraine continues to export grain amid rising demand for wheat and logistical problems with export shipments of soybeans and corn from South American countries due to quarantine restrictions.

In the current season as of April 22, Ukraine exported 48,951 million tons of grain, of 8.25 million tonnes higher than the corresponding figure of last year, namely:

the

wheat – 18,535 million tons,

barley - 4,545 million T.

• corn – 25,197 million tons,

Recall that in 2018/19 MG Ukraine exported 50,144 million tonnes of grain, in particular:

the

wheat -15,579 million tons,

barley -3,692 million tons.

• corn – 29,82 million tons,

compared To last season, the pace of wheat exports grew by 31.5%, barley by 35%, which led to a reduction in reserves.

So, as of April 1, 2020 stocks of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 13,506 million tons, of which agricultural enterprises is 7,743 million tons, and the enterprises storing and processing of grain – 5,763 million tons.

compared To last year, grain stocks decreased by 19%, namely:

the

wheat – 7.5% to 4,075 million tons,

barley increased by 24% to 1,259 million tons,

rye remained at the same level of 68.2 thousand tons.

• corn – 31.7% to 7,717 million tons,

the Fall in world corn prices reduces the competitiveness of Ukrainian maize compared to the us that continue to slow down export.

For the week, the Ukraine reduced grain exports by 15% to 992тис tons, including corn – 33% to 596 thousand tons. at the same time the export of wheat grew by 47% from 217 to 319 thousand tons, barley – by 44% to 77 thousand tons.

In the current season wheat exports may not be specified in the Memorandum between the government and the trading volume of 20.2 million tonnes, as most international companies is planning by the end of April to close the program with the export of wheat for possible export restrictions because of drought conditions and reduction proposals by the manufacturers.

Russia is the main competitor of Ukraine in the black sea region, as of April 16 exported 33.2 million tonnes of grain, which is 13% lower than the level of last season, in particular, exports of wheat decreased by 11% to 28.5 million tonnes Imposed a quota on grain exports in the amount of 7 million tons will not allow the country to achieve the forecasted grain exports at the level of 43-44 mln tonnes, in particular wheat and 33.3-35 million tons.
