The price of peas in Ukrainian ports has updated the historical maximum

According to the Agency "APK-inform", in the first decade of January, the price of peas in deep-sea ports of Ukraine continued to grow, and even harder than before.

"Despite the General volatility in export prices, the prices of peas remain in the uptrend as a result of difficulties with the formation of the necessary parties on the background of containment sales manufacturers and gradual reduction of stockpiles within the country, especially given the reduction in the production of peas in Ukraine in the current season by 15%. At the same time higher prices contributes to the high competition from processors, most of which have substantially raised the prices of peas, and similar price dynamics in the sector adjacent crops, especially soybeans and some niche crops," - said the Agency.

With the support of these factors, the price of peas rose by an average of 500-1000 UAH/t and as of 27 January account for 280-290 $/t or 9500-10500 UAH/t CPT-port, although some buyers are willing to pay only 9300-9400 UAH/t CPT-port.

it is Worth noting that traders have raised the prices of demand above the historical maximum 9400-10100 UAH/t CPT-port, which was recorded in late April – early may 2016.

"At such high prices peas were traded in January, but now moderate demand from importers may change the trend. On the other hand, the rate of export of peas is much inferior to last year primarily due to reduced purchases by India. Given that from July to December sold 60% of the export potential of this crop, then the situation may develop quite unexpectedly", - told in "APK-inform".
