The Ministry plans to prohibit the buying of agricultural land in Ukraine to foreigners and businesses

Recall that the Parliament extended the moratorium on alienation of agricultural land until 2018. And 28.10.16 the law was signed by the President.

under existing legislation, the moratorium will be automatically extended until the entry into force of the law on turnover of agricultural lands, the draft of which is now developed by the Ministry of agrarian policy, in cooperation with other agencies.

Experts and the public disagreed on the necessity of lifting the moratorium on land sales. Some believe that this will create a shadow market of the earth, others believe that the land bought up by foreign owners, and farmers will be left with nothing.
