The experts of the IGC lowered the forecast of world maize production in 2020/21 MG

experts from the International Grain Council (IGC) in the September report decreased compared with the August forecast that the world corn production in 2020/21 MG from 1,166 to 1,160 billion tonnes, whereas in 2019/20 MG it amounted to 1,121 billion T.

 

Forecast of production reduced for the US, 7.7 million tonnes to 376,5 mln t, China – 3 million tonnes to 258 million tonnes, the EU by 1.8% to 67.4 million tons, Ukraine – 2 to 35 million tons, while increased for Brazil, 6.2% to 112.5 million tons and Argentina 2.2 to 54.3 million tons.

 

the forecast of world maize exports in 2020/21 MG, by contrast, increased from August's 177 million tons to 178 million tons (173,3 million tonnes in 2019/20 MG) due to increased estimates of exports to Brazil from 36 to 37.5 million tonnes (34.5 million tonnes in 2019/20 MG) and Argentina from 31 to 32.5 million tonnes (38.2 million tonnes in 2019/20 MG). For Ukraine, the forecast of corn exports were reduced 1 million tons to 30.5 million tons and EU countries raised its forecast for imports by 1 million tons to 21.4 million tons.

 

the Forecast of world corn ending stocks season 2020/21 in the September report have reduced compared to the August with to 288,2 284,7 million tonnes (300,5 million tonnes in 2019/20 Mr), particularly to China, of 172.2 to of 169.3 million tonnes (191.5 million t), USA, from 67 to 63.8 million tons (57.2 million tons), EU – from 5 to 4.8 million tons (5.9 million tonnes). thus for Brazil, they increased by 3.3 million tons to 9.2 million tons, Argentina by 0.5 million tons to 4.9 million tons.
